Canandaigua - We made it!

After nearly a week away, this will be the first of several Canandaigua Lake posts. Cananadaigua is a tradition.  We have been visiting the lake for eight years.  With my Mom and Mike living in New Hampshire, we wanted to keep the boat at lake that reminded us of Winnipesaukee - Canandaigua it was. 

Over the years, I have traveled to the lake with as little as an overnight bag and all the gear needed to complete a triathlon - nothing has ever come close with the amount of stuff we towed this time. 

Yes, we required a rooftop carrier on my car. 

Yes, we packed all this despite having all necessities less than two miles away at Wegmans or Walmart.  

Yes, we still had to get groceries for the week once we arrived because we couldn't fit another thing in our car
Yes, no question, it was worth it.  A slower pace and family memories erased the packing from our memory.

And... we told my mom we would arrive around 4:00 p.m. We manged to coordinate the napping, eating and nursing schedule (and loading the car - thanks, Jason) to get us out the door - we arrived at 3:59 - Jason and I even impressed ourselves!
