Halloween is here

With lots of fesivities already documented, Halloween itself is here!

Hollyn's first Halloween - wearing her shirt from CC.

Great Aunt Jess stopped by for a visit

I have been meaning to share how Hollyn is starting to grab everything and anything within an arms reach so watch out.

All ready to go

Special thanks to my Dad for handing out candy so I can trick-or-treat with Jason and the kids

Learning the ropes from the crayon and owl

Back home after a successful night despite the rain

Trick-or-Treat Grandpa G!

I think I like Halloween!
Note for next year:  a pack of M&Ms and a sucker provides enough sugar for Colton to run, jump, laugh and yell like a wild man for at least two hours.

Halloween Ready

The cat and dog had another dress rehearsal in their costumes before the big day.  This time it was Music with Mar class.

The dog was a little uncooperative with photos but the cat stayed put.

The shark with her mama (this shark is just weeks away from being a year old)!

Sticks with CC

The shark and the dog mesmerized with the big dark house

Marching band - Colton did exceptionally listening to the cowgirl (Miss Melissa)

We kept the Halloween spirit going with a little pumpkin carving.

Colton poked holes and I connected the dots to make a face

These two look so much alike it's scares me sometimes

Moving up

We are ready for the big move.  A few weeks ago I shared Colton had a one hit wonder in his big boy bed.  After chatting with his pediatrician Jason and I decided the best way to make the transition to the twin bed is to completely remove the crib from his room.  After all, Hollyn is ready for her crib.  Upon our return from vacation, Jason moved the crib to Hollyn's room while Colton was at school.

Hollyn's last night in her bassinet by our side. Our little girl is growing up.
You will also notice her very special Mimi blanket - a little surprise we found when arriving home from our trip.

Flashback to her first night in July - this little girl has grown so much

Showing Colton his room without the crib.  The excitement over the big truck sheets kept him from asking what happened to his crib.

bulldozer - cement mixer - loader - excavator

I think this is going to go pretty well.

Test run, so little in such a big bed

Success!

More success!

This day will also mark a big change for Colton - he has started to use the potty more consistently.  We are so proud of our little guy.   He is still in diapers for now but we will continue to practice the potty and help him transition. One day, we will be purchasing diapers for only one little person.

Big Sun and More Fun

Our little travelers did excellent adjusting to strange beds and a new place.  Hollyn slept 10-11 hours every night, Colton went to sleep like a champ but did make sure he was up in time to see the sunrise.

My little guy and I cuddled under a blanket on the balcony and awaited the "big sun."  I couldn't think of a better way to start the day.

Hollyn loving her CC

Huge smiles after a great (long) night of sleep

Colton notices Hollyn more and Hollyn really responds to her big brother.
I love seeing the two of them interact.

Pre wedding fun & Aunt Lauren's Big Day

We had a get together with family and friends the night before the wedding.  It was so nice to meet Kendal's family and the bridal party before the big day.  Best yet, the gathering was just a few floors above our condo where Yamma and Bob Bob were staying.

Hollyn loves her Aunt Di

The crowd - these condos are HUGE - easily fitting over 30 people

Cousins enjoying the ocean view

Hollyn with her namesake

Yes, Hollyn had a wardrobe change ;)

Home sweet home - now Nomah & Dada are off for a few drinks!

The BIG Day

"Dada tie - Colton tie"
We were successful with Colton wearing a tie, not so successful with the adorable Sperry Top Siders - this guy prefers his sneakers.  Oh well, happy toddler is worth a little fashion sacrifice

The Smiths (well, one group of us) - lots of Smiths here!

Matching Vera bib from G & Mimi

Here comes the bride...

Taylor would not leave Uncle Kendal's side
Congrats to the happy couple!
