Big Girl Bed

I'm not exactly sure when we made the decision to begin Hollyn's move out of her crib and into her big girl bed.  Jason and I started talking about it  back in August when Hollyn couldn't seem to keep herself covered up at night; she would toss and turn endlessly and wake up a few times a night.  Maybe it was the fact that she had accumulated a lot more clothes and mementos and while her room is plenty big enough, it still felt cluttered.  It also could have been that I was just ready to turn our guest room (that looked neat but was never quite organized) into Hollyn's big girl room and, in turn, create a cozy guest room used mainly Grandpa G & Mimi.

So back in August, off we went... Hollyn and I.  She picked her sheets choosing "horse-ees" over flowers, cats, and hearts; and purple (well, mauve) for her walls. We ordered a pretty chambray night stand and a desk and bought a mattress to convert the crib.  Both Hollyn and Colton loved mattress shopping, this mattress met the bounce test.

There is a piece of me that is sentimental saying farewell to our nursery.

The big transition started November 7th and Jason hung up all the finishing touches this past week.  Hollyn loves her room - if you stop by, I'm sure you will hear her say "Come see my (r)woom, I show you!"

Reading books in my woom.

Final sleep in the crib.

Walls are painted, it's time to vacuum

First night in a full bed!

While Jason and I converted Hollyn's crib to a full, these two made their biggest mess ever.
"Mommy, Daddy, we made snow!"

happiness.

Lots of babies (blankets & stuffed animals) live in Hollyn's room.
