Colton's adventure

A family vacation with two under three is a tad more complex than our travel used to be.  Airport shuttle, airplane, airport shuttle between terminals, airplane, customs (the line was 2.5 hours long, a very kind woman who works there moved us to the front of the line, bless her), followed by a two hour bus ride to the resort.  The propelling force that kept me going through twelve hours of travel is to see the world in the eyes of Colton.   To watch him explore new places, meet new people, do new things.

Here is Jamaica in the eyes of Colton.

Jason and I were shocked when after we were in our room for a while he said "when we going to Colton's house?"  I guess a two year old really doesn't grasp the concept of vacation.  Luckily the birdies and lizards outside our door captured the attention of this little guy, he decided to tough it out for week in Jamaica instead of returning home to the cold.

Every morning, sometimes at 7 a.m., other days at 5:30 a.m., Jason and Colton would sit out on our porch and watch the birds.

Birdie, Where are you?
(he still calls them beep beeps from time to time as he did in Myrtle Beach)

Heading back to our room (lower right) and searching for birdies

I found them!
They're going up in the sguy!

Three restraunt meals a day and our little guy (and gal) did great.
Colton enjoyed all of his favorites... chocolate milk, chicken and pasta!

Colton picked a souvenir that was made out of driftwood.  He checked out the turtle...

... and the elephant

... and decided on the lizard (lee-zard)

When we were in Myrtle Beach, the condo had an extra old phone in the kitchen that was not being used.  Papa let Colton play with it all week. When we arrived in our room, Colton gravitated to the resort phone.  We had to disconnect it so he could "call" people.  He even had to sleep with it.  This is also the first big boy bed he slept in besides his own.  He did great.  Our room had a few steps down into a sitting area where we kept his cot, he had his own little space.

Looking cool in his new hat and trunks from CC & Papa

Baby Seester, I'm gonna get you

Our flight on the way home had less than 50 people aboard.  This meant we had tons of extra space.  Colton took a window seat next to me at first then moved over to Jason's side of the plane.
This little guy is loving his iPad!

Almost landing in Dulles

And who wouldn't want to arrive home with a lee-zard tattoo on their belly?
