Mah-me's Cookie Helper

I planned to bake some cookies for a weekend party we were having and with Jason running a bit late from work I had to keep Colton busy.  I whipped up the first batch and Colton played in the sink.  It is amazing how a bowl, cup, a basting brush, soap, and a faucet will entertain a toddler.

Like all good things, this did come to an end before I finished the second batch.  Colton dumped a cup of water on himself soaking himself (hence the lack of clothing in the below pictures).  Once he was dried off, he took an immediate interest in the mixer.  He was content watching the mixer for a bit and then his curious mind need a bit more interaction.  I had Colton help by putting the chips into the mixer.  He caught on quickly but soon realized he could eat the chips!  (see the third picture)

Mah-me's innocent helper

Getting the hang of adding the chips

Trouble begins...
chips in the mixer = zero
chips in Colton's mouth = I lost count

And all this eating was accomplished while Colton held onto the basting brush.
I will not even begin to explain the energy that remained in this little guy for the hours to follow.

This is what Dada arrived home to
(what you can't see is all the chocolate fingerprints all over my white shirt)

Despite a messy guy - we had so much fun!
