Sunday Funday

Jason is off to Vegas for five days and the rest of us were recovering from Adam and Kristen's Wedding the night before.  To start the day off right we had a family brunch before our NH crew headed back home.  Colton was very excited to have breakfast with Uncle Brad.

I like this guy when he feeds me!

Following brunch, Colton and I attended London's First Birthday Party!  .

While all the party guests were in the other room - Colton found it much more
exciting to be alone in the dining room with a few toys (Sorry I missed presents Londi)

See girls, this is how you do it!

Such a fun day, Colton fell asleep before dinner.
This has happened before, check out the April post.

Fall Open House

Grandpa G and Mimi were visiting over the weekend and joined us for the Fall Open House at Colton's School (aka his Kastle).  It was a beautiful day -- and a great day for a wedding.  Later that day my Cousin Adam married his girlfriend of twelve years.  Scroll down to check out a few pictures of the Bride and Groom.

They are never together at the same time -- Colton was a bit overwhelmed :)

Beautiful day for a Wedding!
Congratulations Adam & Kristen!

More to say

I must admit when Colton started to wave and say "ahi," part of me was certain we were bound for a one hit wonder.  To my surprise, our little guy has been consistent.  He even waved with a "ahi" when we visited a friend's house last night.  I love that he is trying to communicate.  It just amazes me that a year ago he was in my belly and now he's talking to us.

More "ahi's" -- After he does says it once and we ask him again, you will see him focus on getting the word out.  Our little thinker is so sweet.

A great round of "mimics" (following da's and tossing his ball and book on the floor) -- We switch up the order of the sounds all the time to keep him on his toes :)

Fall fun

It is officially Fall.  When I think of Fall I think of football, leaves, squash soup, pumpkin spice lattes, sunny days, and brisk nights.  This is my favorite time of the year.

We kicked off the weekend Friday night by going to the Lancaster / Clarence High School Football Game with friends.  This was Colton's first football experience -- I must admit he was very entertained by the half-time band performance, he loves music.  Despite being a Lancaster resident, Colton was secretly cheering for Clarence (Grandma CC's Alma Mater).  While Lancaster was leading at halftime, Clarence won the game.

Saturday night Aunt Amy, Uncle Steve, Taylor & Chris came over for dinner.  Colton was in his glory with two cousins to play with!

Trouble. Trouble.

Jammie time

Taylor took hold of the camera (again) -- here are some of her shots.
She's gotten much better since last time!

Bounce and Wave

About a month ago Colton has started to mimic us.  It started with "clucks," sticking his tongue out, and raspberries (I know, not the most socially acceptable).  He has now progressed to bouncing and waving accompanied with his own version of "hi."  So cute -- we just have to share!

Bouncing with Daddy - with giggles in between

Colton is amusing himself and allowing Jason and I to sit at the table --
this is almost as amazing as his little wave and "ai."

11 Months

Our little guy is eleven months old today.  In a month we will have a one year old... where has the time gone?

Colton loves to make loud noises out the window.  If only pictures could talk you would hear his constant chatter.

Not the best picture but I love that you can see all his teeth!

Favorite Things

I am almost eleven months old, can you believe it?  Now that I move around and explore I have  found some favorite things around our house.  If you ask Mommy and Daddy they would prefer I play with my toys, but these things are much more fun.

The only thing on this list that is mine and is a toy is my Sophie -- I love her.  She has been with me my whole life.  Mommy has pictures of Sophie and I on the blog-- our picture together back in early January and again when I turned six months old.  Compare the pictures below and you will notice many of Sophie's spots have worn away (my constant chewing may have something to do with this).  I love her and giggle when I see her.

January 2, 2011 -- This was when I first learned to grab things.
My grip has improved since then

Sophie today.  A few less spots.

Another favorite is my comb.  If you look closely at my hair you will notice I didn't let Mom finish combing.  I grunted and waived my hands until I could take hold.

I am also a fan of my toothbrush.  Last night I brushed my (now six) teeth for over 20 minutes.  Sometimes I even brush with the wrong end.

The thing that hangs from the foyer ceiling really amuses me.  When I cry, Daddy walks circles underneath it so I could look up at it.  This settles me down. I look at it every morning when I walk down the stairs -- I laugh and kick my feet.  Hopefully one day I will get to climb up there and hang from it.

Daddy and I one day when I was sick and crying

I am very interested in this piece of the kitchen floor that moves.  I love to pick it up and look down into the vent. Someday I will probably drop things down there. Mama and Daddy have tried to outsmart me by putting my high chair leg on it to prevent me from lifting it up.  Every so often they forget and I rush over to play.

Dad's remotes.  Do you see all those buttons?  My favorite is the black one in the middle with the shiny touchscreen.  Once I get my hands on it, you will not get it away from me without lots of tears.

A close-up picture of my favorite.

Now if you were 32 inches tall, wouldn't that drawer intrigue you?  I found this drawer months ago when I started to crawl.  Every morning while Mommy and Daddy get ready, I crawl right over and pull out my hair dryer.  I mostly just smash and scrape it on the tile floor.  I love it.

Can you see the marks from scraping it on the tile?

Mom and Dad put these all over the house to entertain me.  Give it a flick and you'll be entertained for hours.

The door stop.  I am even creative enough to carry it in my mouth while I crawl.  Mom has to keep washing it so I can continue to chew on it; I don't think she minds.

My cat.  Everyone tells me she is the meanest cat ever -- but not to me.  I lay on her, pull her along the floor, pull her hair, drool on her, hug her, and make really loud noises around her.  She loves me.

Thanks for checking out all my favorites -- I'll get back to you soon as I discover a few more.

Love,
Colton
