Fall Fun @ Childrens' Kastle

Colton and Hollyn brought Yamma, Bob Bob, CC and Papa to the Fall Open House at their school.  They got to show off their classrooms and also check out the fire trucks and petting zoo.

Conversations with Colton (and a little Hollyn video too)

We always talk on the way home from school.  This day, we were talking about his upcoming birthday and his airplane themed party.  Once were we in the driveway, he just kept talking.  To my surprise, he didn't even pause or notice my attempt to capture this on video.

My favorite parts... "I'm gonna turn the propeller on first... you're gonna watch me fly... I am a pilot... You wanna tell you something... Ryan's gonna come too... you gonna go behind me with the plane"

Everyday life

Everyday life.  So often I focus my posts on big experiences such as vacations and milestones (like Hollyn walking!).  This post is all about the every day.  Our routines.  I hope one day I'll look back on this and remember how special these ordinary moments are.

Jason usually brings the kids to school and I pick them up.  Colton is my helper.  Mondays he brings in the recycle bins and everyday he helps me get the mail.

Ready to be loaded up for school.  Even the most calm mornings can be hectic getting these two off to school, especially when they don't want to get dressed.  This is a moment of calm.

Hollyn loves to empty my towel drawer.  My organized self has given up -- these towels are no longer folded neatly... they won't be until Hollyn has moved on to new things.

Remember above when I mentioned jammies.  This was an example of one of those morning.  Colton drinks his milk and cuddles in our bed while Jason and I get ready for work.

Jammies circa 1980-something.  My mom kept them packed safely all these years.

Our regular walks in the neighborhood -- this was an extra special walk.
First treat from the ice cream truck! (or ice cream bus as Colton calls it -- technically, he's right).

Not necessarily an ordinary day but fun nonetheless.  We visited the Mercy Flight open house and watched the planes at the airport with Heidi & Ryan.

Wheels & Legs

We took advantage of perfect pre-Autumn weather and enjoyed a 10 mile ride on the Clarence bike trail.  The weather was warm and the air crisp.  I enjoy summer but love this time of the year.

Colton insisted on bringing his bike so we let him ride around a bit at the start of the trail.  After riding for a bit he was eager to 'go fast' in the bike trailer.

Water stop 5 miles out.

On the way back we took a pit stop at Clarence Town Park for a little fun at the playground.

Drum roll, please..... Hollyn no longer prefers crawling!  Her legs are in motion... she is a walker!

Labor Day Week

This post is called Labor Day WEEK since Jason and I were off work the week before Labor Day.  After our vacation in Hammondsport it was nice to just be home.  We had a few adventures and lots of fun.  Bear with me and the lengthy post, it was an exciting week!

Heidi and I took the boys to watch trains and then visited Clarence Center's playground.
