Sprinkle, Shower, Birthday

On Saturday I was surprised -- it is very rare I am surprised.  Maybe because I figure it out or maybe because I am such a planner that everyone is afraid to throw me off my game.  I must admit, I was speechless.  I can't thank my girlfriends enough for the surprise pre-baby brunch.

October, September & July

Sunday was a double celebration, Lauren's Bridal Shower and Grandma Karen's Birthday!

Only Child

I can't resist posting these random pictures from the past week.  After all, is not much longer until this guy is a big brother and will have to share the blog with his sister.

Hugs for Doolie

Only Child not for long - July is coming soon!

Below is the only picture I took at Amelia's 2nd Birthday Party.  Cory & Danielle threw a fabulous party and I had such a great time I forgot to take pictures, I didn't even capture one of the Birthday Girl!

Sunday Funday on Tranquility

With this post I am officially caught up on blogging.  This will last until we have our next adventure or Colton does something alarmingly cute and it is captured by the camera.

After a busy Saturday we spent Sunday at home.  We did not leave our street.  Did not get in the car.  There was one minor exception, Jason moved our cars back into the driveway.  This doesn't sound very special until you are aware we have been parking in the street for the past month due to the huge pile of soil that took up our driveway.  Weekend commitments, work travel, and rain kept our (Jason's) retaining wall project on hold for a bit.  I am pleased to report the wall structure is nearly complete.  Now it is simply a pile of mulch between our cars and the garage.  Progress!

While Jason worked on the wall in the morning, Colton had the chance to experience his first ride on the lawn mower.  (Followed by several more throughout the morning)

As Jason painstakingly layed 45 pound bricks, moved crushed stone, and dug into the ground to ensure our 37 foot monster of a wall was level, Colton sat on the mower... and sat on the mower.  For a good part of the morning I stood by and was entertained by the various mower noises Colton made.

In his glory

Colton's mowing ended with a THREE hour nap.  Jason finished his work in the afternoon and when Colton woke up we graciously accepted an invite to swim in our neighbor's pool.  Thank you Harry & Cathy (for the pool and the borrowed mower)!

All ready to go!

Colton's favorite part was watching Dooley take a swim.

After dinner, we wrapped up an evening on Tranquility with a game of catch that was more like fetch.  It was also recent that we discovered Colton can count!
(look closely and you'll see the mulch!)

Summer Solstice

We welcomed summer at Aunt Laura & Uncle Jon's 4th Annual Summer Solstice Party.  It is amazing how this party has evolved from the bash of the year to kiddie pools and push up pops.  For the record, it may still be the bash of the year but that all takes place after we head home.

2010 (um, yes that's our family)

I think Colton's head is still the same size, his body just grew into it.

Colton was so excited to find a pool set up in the back yard - thank goodness we packed his trunks!

Check out the one-pack

I love my Grandpa G despite my poor attempt at a smile

E - "I can't believe they gave us a second Popsickle"
C - "Just look cute and say 'more-more' while doing sign language; works every time"

E - "I think I"ll try that"

C - "They keep taking our picture, we must look cute"
E - "It's my dress, it was my Mom's when she was little.  It's from Hawaii, this dress is like 30 years old!"

C - "It could also be they are amazed we are staying still for so long -
they don't know what to do with themselves."

E - "Yeah, that's it.  Plus, I do look cute in my dress."

C - "How come yours is almost gone? I better catch up!"

Chris is 2!

We celebrated Christopher's second birthday at Lincoln Park this weekend.  The park is just down the street from where Jason grew up.  We where also here a year ago when Chris turned one, look how much these two have grown since last year!

Uncle Jason blowing bubble for CMS & CMS!

More, more - please!

When Jason finished, Colton roped Yamma into taking over the bubbles!

Woah!

Happy Birthday to Chris...

We pondered which coat of paint was on this very horse when Jason rode it as a kid.

 Almost FOUR!
